Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They are used to remember your preferences, understand how visitors use a site, and support features such as advertising attribution. Similar technologies, such as browser local storage, serve related purposes.

2. Cookies We Use

CategoryPurposeSet By
EssentialRequired for the website to function and to keep it secure. This site does not currently set any essential cookies itself; your consent choice is stored in your browser’s local storage, not as a cookie.QualityControlSoftware.com
AnalyticsMeasure how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on site, approximate location) so we can improve it. Used by Google Analytics 4. These cookies are only set after you accept the analytics category in our consent banner; until then, analytics runs in cookieless mode with anonymized IP addresses.Google Analytics (first-party): _ga, _ga_*, _gid, _gat
AffiliateAttribute commissions when you click through to a vendor website from an affiliate link. We do not currently set affiliate cookies ourselves; vendors and affiliate networks may set their own cookies on their websites when you click through, which is why we ask for your consent before enabling affiliate tracking.Vendor websites and affiliate networks
PreferencesRemember the cookie choices you make. Stored in browser local storage under the key cookie_consent.QualityControlSoftware.com

3. Consent

When you first visit our website, a consent banner asks you to choose which cookie categories you allow. Non-essential cookies (analytics and affiliate) are only used after you accept them. If you choose “Reject non-essential” or decline a category, that category remains disabled. You can change your choices at any time by clicking the “Cookie preferences” button at the bottom-left of the screen.

Our analytics tag implements Google Consent Mode v2: analytics storage is denied by default and is only granted when you accept the analytics category. When denied, Google Analytics operates without reading or writing cookies and sends only cookieless pings with anonymized IP addresses.

4. Cloudflare Web Analytics

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures aggregate site traffic without setting cookies and without profiling individual visitors. It runs regardless of your cookie choices because it does not require consent under applicable law.

5. How to Control Cookies

You can control cookies in several ways:

  • Use the “Cookie preferences” button on our website to update your choices at any time.
  • Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Most browsers let you review and remove cookies per site, and to block third-party cookies entirely.
  • Install a browser extension that blocks tracking scripts.
  • Google’s opt-out page (https://adssettings.google.com) and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on apply to Google’s advertising and measurement cookies.

Blocking or deleting cookies does not prevent you from using our website, though some personalized features may be limited. Please note that we have no control over cookies set by third parties on their own websites.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this cookie policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or the law. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

7. Contact Us
